Make-A-Wish Helps Batkid Save the City of San Francisco

Today, a 5-year-old named Miles Scott is having a day he'll never forget. Battling leukemia since he was just one, Miles is fulfilling his dream of becoming Batkid with the help of Make-A-Wish Foundation and thousands upon thousands of supportive fans who are in San Francisco. (See original post, here.) Patricia Wilson, the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Bay Area executive director, thought a few hundred volunteers would come out to support Batkid but, after the story went viral. she received over 12,000 responses!

Even Mayor Ed Lee, Police Chief Greg Suhr, and the local media have gotten into the act! The local television station KGO-TV put out a broadcast this morning with the Police Chief calling for Batkid's help. The San Francisco Chronicle distributed special-edition newspapers with the headline, “Batkid Saves City,” in Union Square. “It's really neat to see how many people have got together for a stranger they don't know and show support for; it's heartwarming,” Miles' father Nick Scott said.

Miles, who lives in Tulelake, Northern California, was diagnosed with leukemia when he was just 18 months old. He ended treatments in June and is, thankfully, now in remission.

Now, here are some awesome photos from Miles' incredibly epic day.
