Polish photographer Izabela Urbaniak captures the essence of youth and the freedom of summer in this stunning collection of black and white photographs. Since 2012, Urbaniak has been developing the series, titled Summertime, which documents her two sons, with friends and cousins, as they explore their world on hot summer days.
There is a simple and childlike wonder that radiates from every scene. Urbaniak states that the series is inspired by her own childhood and the days that she used to spend visiting her grandmother in the countryside.
The boys are seen peeking through fences, playing with puppies, fishing, acting silly, running through fields, lounging around in a hammock, and enjoying memorable days of bonding with a sibling. “These pictures represent summer without computers and TVs,” explains the artist. “Only idyllic nature and playing children.”
