Edible Abraham Lincoln Memorial Gingerbread Sculpture

During the holiday season, gingerbread goodies seem to pop up everywhere. From gingerbread houses to gingerbread cookies, and even lattes, the flavor is extremely prominent for about three solid months. This year, baker Patti Paige decided to turn that flavor into something more than just your traditional cookie cottage with a new and clever idea. She created this 3-foot tall Lincoln Memorial replica, made completely out of rice krispie treats, chocolate, fondant, icing, gingerbread cookie, and peppermint sticks. Other than the playful twist of putting Honest Abe in earmuffs and mittens, the rest of the piece is fairly true to form.

Paige's bake shop, Baked Ideas, is no stranger to unique cookie designs. The business is described as a place where “imagination is the main ingredient; where bakers are artists who custom-design and hand decorate any shaped cookies their customers can dream up.”

Rather than snacking on this delicious sculpture, the edible piece is currently on display at the Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York City. Visitors can donate one dollar to vote on their favorite display and all of the proceeds go to City Harvest, an organization dedicated to feeding New York City's hungry men, women, and children.
