Remember Sarah and David? They're the creative couple who shared their sweet and funny love story with their wedding guests. A friend of Sarah's, who just happens to be an architectural designer in Los Angeles and an “urban savvy, a bloggo, and attuned to the culture” gal, came across our post and told the bride-to-be about it! Sarah emailed me this morning to say thanks and to share her story.
“I am an architect and my fiance is an actor, both with a penchant for graphic design. So it was a given that we were going to design our own wedding invitations. When we decided to get married at Union Station, we wanted to incorporate the theme of ‘travel' which is why our invitations look like a booklet, much like the ones you get to contain your boarding pass or train ticket.
“The contents of the invitation include 1) a postcard 2) the story 3) a ‘travel document' and 4) ‘maps'. Each of these items relay the information regarding the event.
“Bottom line, we did it because we love designing. And we added a funky twist with our verbiage because one of us is a comedian (does improv/runs an improv company here in LA) and the other one of us just loves to laugh.”
Thanks for finding us and sharing your story, Sarah. Best of luck to you and David!
