Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, is already a spectacular natural phenomenon so it's hard to imagine capturing all of its splendor in one still photograph. However, photographer Yukio Ohyama has found ways to present the powerfully captivating landscape in incredibly unique and awe-inspiring ways.
As the seasons change, every day presents Ohyama with a mountain that is different than the day before. The ever-changing landscape of clouds, light in the sky, and a wide range of natural colors allow for each photograph to be more unique than the last.
In his many years as a photographer, Ohyama has developed a personal relationship with the mountain. His bio explains: “Ohyama shuts himself away and lives like a mountain hermit for long periods engaging only in dialog with the mighty volcano, and this unusual lifestyle has enabled him to capture unique scenes of Mt. Fuji.” As viewers gaze upon Ohyama's Mount Fuji, they will experience a still and meditative reflection that comes along with such majestic beauty.
