Armin Blasbichler Studio strives to develop innovative projects that combine architecture, design, and visual arts, and this house is no exception! The playful and well-designed home, called der Muslhaufen, is filled with architect Armin Blasbichler's minimalist and modern dcor concepts. Located in South Tyrol, Italy, the outside of the home resembles musls, or log stacks, and was constructed to blend in to the surrounding scenery.
The architect lives in this creative home with his wife and two sons. Around every corner is another unique and whimsical detail, and the house could probably be considered a playground for all who live there! Several cheerful design concepts include doors within doors, doors in the ceiling, and a stained glass window door, compiled from Pantone swatches, laminated glass, and a wood frame.
As natural light streams through the Pantone swatch door, the hall is filled with square patterns of luminous color. On each swatch, a handwritten note identifies each color in comparison to the surrounding environment, including deep orchid, daffodil, and faded rose.
