Artist Recreates His Own Version of History

Have you ever seen history rewritten like this? Korean photographer Chan Hyo Bae recreates fairy tales, like Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella, and old English aristocracy in these two intriguing series. There's only one catch… the female characters are all played by Bae himself!

By presenting himself in women's attire from past centuries, Bae's work touches on the subjects of sexuality and Westernization.

You can view more of Bae's Existing in Costume series as part of the New Photography in Korea II exhibit at Galerie Paris-Beijing in Paris until October 29, 2011.
