Artificial Sea Trees Restore Environment

Waterstudio.NL is an architecture firm that specializes in creating projects that are on or near water. One of their newest projects is a towering multilayered structure called the Sea Tree. In an effort to bring back healthy environments to large cities, these structures would be built in the rivers, lakes, or harbors that often border large metropolises and house not only sea life but also various birds, insects, and plant life.

Unique Display of Steve McCurry’s Photography

Photographer Steve McCurry is a world renowned photojournalist whose incredible photos have been published in an array of magazines. We've featured his photos several times on our site before, however, this only represents a small portion of his expansive works. MACRO museum in Rome is displaying over 200 images from his 30 year career including a special group of “Italian Pictures” McCurry has taken for the museum to celebrate Italy's 150th unification anniversary.

Stuck in a Cage of Abuse

You are the Key is an ad campaign by Chile-based agency Prolam Y&R that shows images depicting children stuck inside large, human-shaped metal cages while dark scenes of awful futures or terrible home lives play out. Each image is also outfitted with a simple label stating “You are the Key” and a number to call.

Extraordinary Insect Origami

Designed by 31-year old Brian Chan, these amazing origami insects have a remarkable amount of detail in them. Each one of these incredible pieces is made from a single sheet of paper that hasn't been cut. It takes careful planning to get the right form from the folds, which Chan says adds that “extra challenge.” Many look so life-like that they can be considered miniature sculptures.
