Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." Photographer Kristina Makeeva, who is known for her lush fashion and travel photography, produced a stunning set of images that show off the majestic scenery and equally exquisite garments.

Street Artist Turns Rundown Walls Into Incredible 3D Graffiti Art

Wielding his spray can like a weapon, French street artist Scaf slices across city walls and transforms them into something magical with his trompe l'oeil graffiti. His creatures, which range from ferocious dinosaurs to snakes and skeletons, seem to emerge from two-dimensional surfaces to take over their environment. The work is made that much better by the whimsical photographs that Scaf takes of each piece.

These Photos Capture the Incredible Flight Paths Taken by Flocks of Birds

When most people step outside and admire birds, they're taking in the beauty of a single specimen,—but not Xavi Bou. The Catalan photographer looks at the bigger picture for his series Ornitographies, which takes in the stunning formations that migratory flocks of birds create. From fluttering ribbons to fluffy clouds, the shapes formed from the movement of the birds makes for unforgettable photographs. For Bou, the start of the project was a natural progression.

Archeologists Used AI to Discover 143 Ancient Drawings in Peru

Ancient civilizations had all types of communication methods. From cave paintings to crop circles, these primitive visual demonstrations are vital to understanding life in a time before the written word. In Peru, enormous geoglyphs found at Nazca helpde unravel the mystery of life between 500 BCE and 500 CE. The Nazca Lines have been greatly studied since they were discovered in the 16th century.
