Playful Furniture Design Looks Like a Giant Comfortable Birdsnest

Israel-based Merav (Salush) Eitan and Gaston Zahr of OGE Creative Group were inspired by the structure of a bird's nest to develop this large, playful reclining space. Called Giant Birdsnest for Creating New Ideas, the circular wooden structure is filled with soft, egg-shaped pillows and is intended to function as a “fusion of furniture and playground.

Colorful Mural in Italy Celebrates 20th Century Poet Alfonso Gatto

Rome-based visual artist Alice Pasquini recently completed an extensive mural project which celebrates the life and work of Italian poet Alfonso Gatto. Pasquini was commissioned by the Fondazione Alfonso Gatto to create the work in the city of Salerno, where the poet was born. Pasquini created colorful murals along the walls of a large staircase, and also painted the words of Gatto's poetry along the steps.

Colorful Rows of Library Books Transformed Into Abstract Arrangements

Photographer Danae Falliers captures the quiet stillness found on library shelves in her colorful collection of work, simply titled Library. From a direct point of view, the artist documents the rows and rows of lines and blocks of color which fill the shelves in organized arrangements. She then uses digital manipulation to eliminate any text on the spines, and to obtain her desired saturation and exposure.
