Delicate Japanese Oil Paintings of Ethereal Woman Submerged with Nature

Artist Miho Hirano’s oil paintings communicate a delicate beauty through the use of soft colors and fluid brushstrokes. Featuring ethereal woman and fragments of the natural world, each of Hirano’s paintings emote a melancholic longing that beckons one into her character's striking fantasy-lands. Her paintings show a fairy-tale that has been infused with culturally significant elements and lingering, beautiful figures. Hirano is a Japanese artist living in Abiko, Chiba.

Ballerina Expresses Raw Emotions through Portraits of Delicate Dance Movements

Dancers use their bodies as finely-tuned instruments, communicating thoughts and feelings through movement. As Olga Kuraeva explains to Instagram Blog, to her, dance is “neither a philosophy nor a job” but a means of expressing emotion. Kuraeva's Instagram account overflows with the young woman's power and grace, the stunning photographs of her body in movement telling spellbinding stories. Kuraeva dances with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, one of the oldest schools for classical ballet training.

Dynamic Canopy Installation Stretches Outward Like a Flowing Curtain Frozen in Time

Dynamic pastel ribbons ripple down into the the traditional Cortile d'Onore courtyard of the Universit degli Studi di Milano, creating an effervescent curtain suspended in space and time. The translucent installation, titled Invisible Borders, was designed by MAD Architects for the 2016 Milan Design Week, as part of the “Open Borders” exhibition by the Italian magazine Interni.
