Beautiful Ballpoint Pen Illustrations (10 total)

Using just black ballpoint pen and watercolors on white paper, Los Angeles-based illustrator Nicole Guice creates illustrations of beautiful women we'd all love to meet. Having graduated from the Otis College of Art and Design with a BFA in fashion design, Guice openly shares that she hasn't yet “fully embraced the idea of digitally enhancing or completing work” because she feel like “illustrating by hand is a dying art form.” In fact, she loves all the mistakes that come with it. Guice cites artists from different sides of the spectrum in the design and art world as her influences. “My favorite artists/designers are Hilary Knight, Yayoi Kusama, William Kentridge and Victoire de Castellane,” she tells us. “I'm also influenced by botanical lithographs, painted/illustrated advertisements of the 1930's and 40's and individual paintings such as Ruben's Henri IV Receiving the Portrait of Marie de Medici and Manet's Olympia.”
