Trail Camera Catches a Sloth Surprisingly Fighting off the Attack of an Ocelot

Sloths have a reputation for being very slow, or even lazy. But like any other animal, they have to do whatever it takes to survive. A trail camera in the Amazon Rainforest captured the fight-or-flight response of a sloth that was attacked by an ocelot. As the footage shows, the seemingly peaceful sloth was ready to throw punches and fight for its life.

After announcing the finalists last month, the Comedy Pet Photography Awards have revealed the winners of its 2023 contest. Michel Zoghzoghi from Lebanon was named the overall winner for a charming photo of his two rescue kittens. As a professional wildlife photographer, Zoghzoghi spends a lot of time out in the field, seeking out big cats to photograph. But Alex and Max, his kittens, provide him just as much inspiration behind the lens.

Zookeeper Cures Orangutan’s Morning Sickness With Pregnancy Tea

Anyone who has gone through pregnancy knows that it's not an easy time. This doesn't apply to just humans either. An orangutan named Eirina at the Denver Zoo was having difficulty with her first pregnancy and even experiencing morning sickness. Fortunately, a quick-thinking zookeeper had just the thing to help her feel better. Animal Care Specialist Cindy C. remembered that during her own pregnancy, a certain tea aided her upset stomach.
