Waddles the Disabled Duck Walks for the First Time on His 3D-Printed Prosthetic Leg

It’s not just humans that use prosthetic limbs—wounded or disabled animals can benefit from them, too. In the past, we’ve reported on cats, dogs, and even an elephant who have been fitted for prosthesis. The latest creature who’s now learning to walk on an artificial foot is an adorable duck named Waddles. Waddles was born with a deformed leg, but his adoptive owner Ben Weinman wanted to help him live a better life.

Zoo Gorilla Brings Her Baby Over To Meet Mom and Newborn on Other Side of Glass

A mother’s love is unconditional and universal. Both humans and animals have an unbreakable bond with their young, which is beautifully demonstrated in a recent video shot by Michael Austin. He and his wife Emmelina Austin recently visited Franklin Park Zoo in Boston with their 1-month-old son, Canyon. While at the gorilla enclosure, they met a female gorilla named Kiki and her own child, a 7-month-old baby gorilla named Pablo.
