Extremely Detailed Macro Portraits of Colorfully Exotic Insects

Self-taught photographer Francesco Bagnato doesn't consider himself a professional, but his incredible macro photography proves otherwise. Set against plain black backgrounds, his macro photos of insects give viewers a unique perspective of arthropods in colorful detail. The insects pop from the background, as their exoskeletons burst with color, from iridescent tones to almost neon hues. Bagnato has been an animal lover from childhood, with a particular affinity for insects.

Man Custom-Builds Tiny Wheelchair for Goldfish with Swim Bladder Disorder

When Derek, a 20-year-old pet store employee, was presented with a customer's unwell goldfish, he made it his mission to help the little creature out. The fish was suffering from an incurable issue with its swim bladder. The swim bladder is the organ that enables fish to control their buoyancy and stay afloat. Due to its disorder, the poor fish was unable to swim or hold itself upright, so it was often stuck lingering along the bottom of the tank.

Adorable Violet Chinchillas Look Like Perfect Circles from Behind

Chinchillas are a small rodent species lauded for their adorable fluffiness, but Cameron Holmes of Cameron’s Chinchillas has a pack whose cuteness is off the charts. It’s all thanks to their perfectly round butts that resemble a giant dust ball or one of the Soot Sprites from the animated classic, Spirited Away. This particular breed is called violet chinchillas, and they get their name from the purple-tinge to their fur.
