Learn About La Madeleine, the Iconic Parisian Church Dedicated to Mary Magdalene

Paris' La Madeleine is not a tasty pastry, but rather a Neo-Classical masterpiece of French architecture. L'église Sainte-Marie-Madeleine—or the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene—is a landmark of the French capital. Finished in the 19th century, it boasts magnificent columns and is full of marble sculptures and gilt decorations. It once hosted the composer Chopin's funeral and eventually came to represent the glory of 19th century Paris.

Domino Tower on the Manmade Island of Zanzibar Could Become the Second Tallest Tower in Africa

This ambitious design proposal might just become the second tallest tower in Africa. Architecture and Interior firm xCassia was commissioned by Tanzania’s AICL Group and Edinburgh Crowland Management Ltd for the design of this soaring edifice. The proposal seeks to program Zanzibar, a manmade island of Tanzania, to help rebuild the economy after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism.

Architects Design “Seed” Cabin Pods for a Unique Getaway in the Forests of China

Looking for a unique nature getaway? These pods will certainly fit the bill. ZJJZ Atelier has created a series of cabins in the forests of Jiangxi, China, called The Seeds which are enclosed in pine shingles and mirrored aluminum. They will be part of the available units for the Tree Wow Hotel, the second design by the firm. Previously, ZJJZ designed the similarly whimsical Mushroom for the hotel development.
