Elegant Design To Transform a Historic Home Into a Museum Dedicated to Jadidism

Acclaimed architect Lina Ghotmeh is transforming the home of Usmon Khodjaev, a reformer turned president, into a museum honoring the ideas, influences, and continued impact of Jadidism. Set to open in 2027, the work was commissioned by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation as a way to preserve the legacy of this late 19th and early 20th-century reformist movement.

George Lucas’ Museum of Narrative Art Will Open in 2026 in Los Angeles

Legendary filmmaker George Lucas helped shape cinema with Star Wars and pioneered the use of CGI with his visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic. Now, he is helping to preserve the history of narrative art with an expansive museum in Los Angeles, designed by Ma Yansong of MAD. Set to open in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is taking shape across its 11-acre campus in Exposition Park.

Traditional Greek Fisherman’s Shelter Reimagined as Chic Seaside Escape

Sitting on the coast of Milos, Greece, stands a type of structure that’s been around for centuries. Known as sirma, this traditional building from ancient Cycladic culture (circa 3300 to 1100 BCE) was essentially a cave dwelling with a built facade. The style housed a fisherman’s boat during the winter before gradually becoming a temporary place for them to stay.
