Street Artist Fills Unsightly Potholes With Incredible Mosaics of Famous Art

Next time you're looking for great art, try watching your step. One artist is taking it upon himself to beautify cracks and holes in the pavement with colorful mosaic art. Based in Chicago, Jim Bachor transforms unsightly potholes into beautiful renditions of famous paintings. Aptly named Master Pieces, this series of four features depictions of well-known artworks kept at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Hefty Tree Trunks Are Twisted and Knotted Into Surreal Sculptures

French artist Christophe Guinet, aka Monsieur Plant, creates fantastical sculptures that will make you do a double take. Inspired by nature, particularly trees, his latest series, Twist, features hefty pieces of wood contorted into five striking forms. Each one was installed in a natural setting, instilling a sense of wonder in the environment. Though they appear to be made of real wood, Guinet actually creates these pieces from plaster.

Illustrator Gudim Anton depicts the not-so-sticky parts of life in his popular Yes, But comic series. Woman Falls Through the Sky in a Massive Photorealistic Mural

Turn at the right corner in Berlin and you may come across a stunning surrealistic painting. Artists Onur and James Bullough collaborated on a massive mural that perfectly transforms the side of a building into a portal into an immersive world. It depicts an anonymous female figure falling through the sky as her fractured arms reach out toward large violet flowers.
