Majestic Beauty of Horses Captured in Life-Size Galvanized Wire Sculptures

Based in Norfolk in the UK, self-taught artist Connie Adam sculpts all sorts of creatures out of galvanized wire and scrap metal—and some of her most impressive sculptures are of her horses. Capturing the likeness of all different breeds—some life-size and others quite small—Adam somehow manages to harness the dynamic energy and motion of the majestic animals.

However, modern-day Ukraine-based artist Maria (of ArtMasha) puts a contemporary spin on the art form. She uses 3D glass objects as her canvas, transforming otherwise mundane items into colorful works of art. She creates hand-painted glass mugs that celebrate the beauty of nature.

Artist Pours Water Over Massive Flower Arrangement To Preserve Bright Blooms in Ice

Florist and botanical sculptor Azuma Makoto pushes the boundaries of flower arrangement with his surrealist installation art. He explores themes like the ephemerality of nature by preserving bouquets in blocks of ice, submerging Bonzai trees in tanks of water, and even launching plants into space. One of his more recent creations, entitled Frozen Flowers, required the artist to travel to the Notsuke peninsula in Hokkaido in the dead of winter.
