Spanish artist SpY has created yet another mesmerizing kinetic sculpture with Cycles. In this piece, nine rings slowly rotate on their axis, creating a fascinating symphony of movement. Stunning Sculptures Made From Scrap Metal Highlight the Creative Beauty of Being Resourceful

Even while growing up outside of Portland, Ore., artist Brian Mock was resourceful. He would craft drawing pads from scrap paper he collected from trash bins at the print shop where his father worked, and build bird feeders from broken fence boards he’d find on the side of the road. These projects laid the foundation for Mock’s current practice, one that’s still centered around transforming found objects.

When you think of “Dickensian literature,” foggy alleyways, forlorn orphans, or grotesque villains may come to mind. That’s due in part to the influence of illustrations meant to aid 1800s readers in envisioning the scenes, characters, and emotions. Charles Dickens was deeply committed to these illustrations, which would portray characters, scenes, and emotions to his readers. Dickens consulted heavily with his artists and sometimes revised his writing to better match the vision of the illustration.
