Sony Celebrates Walkman’s 40th Anniversary with Epic Retrospective Exhibition

Kids of the '80s and '90s are sure to remember the Walkman. The portable media player was first originally released on July 1, 1979 and revolutionized the way people listened to music—it allowed us to listen to tunes on the go. It was created by SONY co-founder Masaru Ibuka, who felt the brand’s existing portable player was too heavy, bulky, and expensive.

Doctor Reimagines the Human Body as a Subway Map

We've seen some creative subway maps, but nothing quite as inventive as this scientific data visualization. Created by Tufts Medical Center resident physician Jonathan Simmonds M.D., this clever subway map takes riders on a journey through the human body. Basing his work on the traditional map of the London Underground, Simmonds has created 13 color-coded lines that move throughout the body.
