New Canadian Passport Reveals Spectacular Designs Under UV Black Light

With a little help from a UV black light, the most recent version of the Canadian passport reveals spectacular patterns and a surprisingly vibrant neon glow. Reddit user Chachichachichicken recently shared this discovery in an Imgur photo gallery that quickly went viral. The passport pages transform from flat parchment decorated with subtle lines to colorful, hologram-like maple leaves, exploding fireworks that hover over Parliament, and a roomful of politicians outlined in neon.

Valentino’s Space Inspired Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli pulled out all the stops for Valentino's Pre-Fall 2015 collection by including dresses, skirts, and a cape that were all space-inspired. Moons, planets and constellations adorned the clothes and accessories, which made the Internet swoon. As fashion blog Fashionista states, ” It looked gorgeous, with just the right amount of kitsch. The collection as a whole felt relevant, wearable and still very Valentino.

The Chandelier That Produces a Shadow Forest of Wild Trees

A year and a half ago, we told you about Forms in Nature, a stunning light sculpture by Hilden & Diaz (Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz) that casts shadows of trees throughout a room. The 3D printed piece takes eight hours of assembly by hand. Created in Copenhagen, the beautiful chandelier took the world by storm. The first 100 editions quickly sold out, and a new 100 editions is currently under production.

Futuristic Wind Turbines Take the Form of Sleek Minimalist Trees

The Wind Tree, developed by the French New Wind group, is a prototype battery of small wind turbines in the form of a minimalist tree that seamlessly blends in with urban environments. Standing 26 feet tall, plastic pods resembling leaves, with miniature turbine blades inside, hang from the tree's steel branches and can swivel to catch the wind at any angle.
