Unique Warped Window at Londons Church of St. Martin

East Window is a striking, site-specific design that unexpectedly warps a large church window into a visually intriguing abstraction. The installation, created by Iranian artist Shirazeh Houshiary, is located in the east window at Church of St. Martin in the Fields (Trafalgar Square, London). Reminiscent of a cross, the horizontal and vertical lines move towards a central opening that allows light to pass through.

Hundreds of Wooden Arrows Pierce Airplane from Below

This airplane exhibit looks like it was attacked by hundreds of old-fashioned arrows and shot right out of the sky. The piece, entitled Avio, was developed by Havana-based creative collective Los Carpinteros (The Carpenters). With meticulous attention to detail, the duo, consisting of Marco Castillo and Dagoberto Rodriguez, produce projects that focus on the relationship between art and society.

New London Art Show Dazzles with Light

Happen to be in London? An exciting new exhibition opens to the public today, January 30, and runs through April 28 at London's Hayward Gallery. Light Show features 25 illuminated installations and sculptures that date back from the 1960s to the present day. Many of the artworks have not been seen in public in decades and have been recreated specifically for this Hayward Gallery show.

Sydney’s Canopy of Birdcages Suspended in Mid-Air

Step into a certain alleyway in Sydney's Angel Place and you'll find a whimsical installation that's meant to be both seen and heard. Back in 2009, artist Michael Thomas Hill created Forgotten Songs, an installation of 110 empty birdcages suspended high in the air that play the songs of fifty birds that once lived in central Sydney before the colonization and urbanization of the area.
