After quitting her office job, ending a failing relationship, and leaving city life in Sydney behind 12 years ago, photographer Julie Fletcher is now living the dream: traveling to Australia's remotest locations to photograph the gorgeous landscapes and majestic wildlife of the Land Down Under.
With her camera in hand, Fletcher roams the vast outback and captures stunning sights: the iconic and awe-inspiring Uluru, wild kangaroos peeking up inquisitively, tranquil lakes dotted with twisted trees, rugged mountains towering over barren land, and magnificent night skies filled with endless stars.
“There is nothing out there but at the same time there is so much if you just see and not just look,” the photographer says of the secluded southern regions that she frequents. “This area has made me a better photographer by challenging me all the time. I am constantly looking for a different approach on the same subject. It's taught me to keep things simple and don't overthink things.”
