Japanese Grandma Captures the Adorable Bond of 2-Year-Old Girl and Her Giant Poodle

Kids and animals go together like peanut butter and jelly. Their shared sense of curiosity and wonder makes them perfect pals that form strong bonds. A Japanese girl named Mame and her fluffy giant poodle named Riku have been practically inseparable ever since she was born. The now-2-year-old and her pup first stole our hearts last year with their kid-and-animal friendship goals. Since that time, Mame’s grandmother has continued to chronicle the dynamic duo as they explore the world together.

Mame and Riku’s friendship is on display through Instagram, and it has remained adorable as they’ve both gotten older. Even though Mame has gotten taller, she’s still smaller than her gentle giant pup. The charming odd couple continues to take plenty of naps, read, and play dress up. Costumes are where Riku showcases his utmost patience; he’s always willing to wear a silly bonnet or put on a pair of glasses. It’s clear that the good-natured poodle is devoted to Mame—something many people might recognize if they grew up with a dog.

Although the little girl and large pup’s relationship shines on Instagram, Mame’s grandmother also snaps pictures of the world that surrounds them. This includes her other giant poodles named Gaku and Qoo as well as her newest grandchild, Mugi. From the adorable pictures, it’s clear that the trio of pups are taking to Mugi just as they have Mame. We can’t wait for double the sweet photos!

The good-natured pup accompanies the girl on her many adventures, which are chronicled by her grandmother.

This includes reading and computer time…

… snacks…

… and much more (including naps).

The popular Instagram also chronicles the other two poodles, Gaku and Qoo, as well as the newest grandchild, Mugi.
