On November 17, 2012, Salvadoran fisherman Jos Salvador Alvarenga and a crewmate left the coast of Mexico for a weekend fishing trip. Eighty miles offshore, a brutal storm killed the engine and nearly capsized the boat, sweeping the two men and their small vessel far from land and civilization in the heart of the Pacific Ocean. That was the last anyone would see of them for 14 months.

2,500 People Wear Excerpts from Entire "Alice in Wonderland" Text for the World’s Longest Tattoo Chain

What does it take to make the world's longest tattoo chain? According to book-loving company Litographs, such a project requires 2,500 people and a plethora of temporary tattoos featuring phrases from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. To launch their collection of temporary literary tattoos, Litographs produced a Kickstarter asking backers to pledge $1 or more for a temporary tattoo.
