Playful Paintings on the Streets of Tokyo Pay Tribute to Japanese Culture

Spanish street artist Pejac recently finished a tour of Asia, where he decorated the streets of cities in Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan with whimsical paintings and installations. Tokyo, one of his destinations, became the canvas on which he unleashed his praises and critiques of Japanese society in the form of four unique works of art, located around the metropolis.

Framed Paintings Are Transformed into Wearable Art During Fashion Show

Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf transformed intricately framed paintings into avant-garde gowns during their most recent show in Paris. Initially, the wearable art adorned the catwalk's back wall, but was instantly altered the moment the models appeared. Both Viktor and Rolf unhooked their Baroque-style “paintings” from the wall and reshaped them onto their subjects.

Tattoos of Semicolons Offer Love and Hope to Those Struggling with Mental Health Issues

A growing number of people are imprinting their skin with semicolons, either as temporary drawings or permanent tattoos. The trend isn't a simple fashion statement or celebration of punctuation, however; the body inkings are part of Project Semicolon, a faith-based non-profit movement dedicated to supporting those who struggle with self-harm, addiction, and suicidal thoughts. “A semicolon,” reads the project's website, “is used when an author could've chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to.

Man Spends Four Years Growing a Serene Church Made of Trees

While traveling the world, Barry Cox fell in love with architecture, particularly the design and construction of churches. This fascination inspired him to design a cathedral of his own, except he decided to compose the house of worship entirely out of lush trees. To make this dream a reality, Cox dedicated four years of his life to growing this rare church in his backyard in New Zealand.
