Commercial food photographers Pierre Javelle and Akiko Ida have been developing their playfully miniature series since 2002. Entitled Minimiam–a blend of the words “miniature” and “miam” (yummy in French)–the project documents the lives of tiny toy people set against delightfully delicious backdrops.

We came upon this artist by way of friend and photographer Kirsty Mitchell who wrote, “I literally don't think I have ever seen anything as utterly beautiful as the work and home studio of the artist Claire Basler. China’s Enormous Cultural Center Blends into Its Landscape

Harbin Cultural Center is a shining example of good architecture by Beijing-based studio MAD Architects that strives to work with its environment rather than disrupt it. Instead of breaking up landscapes and changing the scenery, the buildings are as naturally incorporated into the surrounding landscape as possible. The center, which is being built on an island in the northeastern Chinese city of Harbin, takes full advantage of its surrounding area.
