Recycled Materials Form Ornate Flower Sculptures

Using a combination of magazine cutouts, dried flowers and leaves, pressed paper, and illustrations, Netherlands-based artist Anne ten Donkelaar creates these realistic and intricate designs, entitled Flower Constructions. From a distance, the sculptures are a gorgeous and vibrant bunch of flora that are growing in abundance. Upon closer inspection, the many found objects are visually transform into an ornate display of recycled materials.

Giant Sculpture of a Man Made of Letters

Spanish artist Jaume Piensa's sculptural installation titled Nomade, translated as Nomad, is a literal man of steel. The figurative sculpture displays a gigantic replica of a man sitting with his knees to his chest. The painted stainless steel figure is left incomplete, without a discernible face, feet, or hands, as a sign of welcoming spectators in, literally.

Intricate Textured Paintings Resemble Coral Reefs

Using rolls of paper and acrylic on canvas, Amy Eisenfeld Genser creates textures and patterns against rich backgrounds that resemble underwater scenes. Each piece is reflective of the stony corals and polyps that one might see while scuba diving near a coral reef. The Connecticut-based artist says, “The sources of my work are textures, patterns, and grids. I look for forms that can be repeated to create a pattern when they are joined.
