Maddie the Coonhound Standing On Things (Part 2)

Earlier this year, we instantly fell in love with Maddie the coonhound as she modeled for her owner, photographer Theron Humphrey, in strange and unusual places. The project, Maddie on Things, features the very photogenic dog standing underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, precariously balanced between the doors of a refrigerator, topping off a large stack of colorful suitcases, and much, much more.

Sitting on the Edge of the World

When I first saw these images by German photographer Christopher Hassler, I had to stop and stare for a minute to figure out what is going on in each scene. And I imagine that is probably the artist's intentions with this series, entitled Point of View. Using a fisheye lens in a long tunnel, Hassler finds angles that confuse his viewers.

Colorful Umbrellas Magically Float in Mid-Air

Flickr photographer Patrcia Almeida recently shot these great photos of a wonderfully whimsical umbrella art installation in Portugal. Like something out of a fairy tale, the umbrellas look almost like they're magically floating in mid-air. As she writes, “In July, in gueda (a Portuguese town), some streets are decorated with colorful umbrellas. I felt like a kid, amazed by all that color!” She calls it Umbrella Sky. Love this kind of outdoor art.
