His elaborately staged sets bring to mind the world of film. It's no wonder as Crewdson cites The Twilight Zone, Stephen Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, David Lynch's Blue Velvet, and Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo as some of his sources of inspiration.

Creative Ads: Nike, Write the Future (5 total)

Soccer players turn into immortalized statues in these creative ads for Nike. The print ads are a nice compliment to Nike's epic World Cup commercial, that was created by Wieden + Kennedy and took over 6 months to make. I love how each soccer star is frozen in a powerful and emotional pose and how the imagery is paired with a powerful statement that can be applied to more than just sports.

Urban Street Art: Os Gemeos and Blu Collaborate in Lisbon

There's a lot going on in this collaborative piece by artists Os Gemeos and Blu. If you look closely at the huge mural which covers two sides of a tall building, you'll notice that the man sucking the globe wears a crown adorned with oil company logos. The piece is timely considering what's going on in the Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully that dude with a human slingshot will take him out.
