Top British and Irish Universities Offer Free Online Courses to Afghan Women

International concern for their safety and rights skyrocketed as it became clear that the new regime's promises to be more moderate in their dictates was illusory. Rules on female dress came quickly, followed by gender-segregated education. Now, the Taliban has officially banned women from the country's universities—effective immediately.
