Beetle-Inspired Coffee Table Features Fold-Out “Wings”

Nature is an endless source of inspiration for many artists and designers, many of whom reimagine natural forms and colors as part of their own work. Radhika Dhumal, a furniture and interior design student at India's National Institute of Design, found inspiration from the insect world. Dhumal designed a coffee table–titled Elytra—that’s based on the form and movement of a beetle.

Adorable Dachshund Puppy Has a Body That’s Spotted Just Like a Dalmatian

At first glance, it might seem that Moo the dachshund is wearing a stylish outfit that covers his body in brilliant polka dots. But when you look a little closer, you’ll see that the pattern is part of his natural coat. This illusion occurs thanks to Moo's black and tan head. His head's coloring gives no indication that the rest of his body is covered in Dalmatian-like spots.

Airline Seat Designed to Allow Economy Passengers to Lie Down and Sleep

For years, passengers have been complaining about the tight quarters when flying economy. But now, more than ever, there's a need to rethink standard seating in the face of social distancing. Luckily, one man has already spent the past few years devising a way to give economy passengers the ride that they deserve. Designer Jeffrey O'Neill first contemplated tackling airline seating while flying from New York to Singapore.
