Lacoste Continues to Replace Iconic Crocodile Logo With Endangered Species

Once again, sports fashion brand Lacoste is replacing its iconic crocodile emblem with 10 different endangered species for a limited edition collection of white polo shirts. The Save Our Species campaign is part of a 3-year partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in a bid to raise awareness of the animals’ dwindling numbers.

For the first time, the interactive application allows you to browse through every page, filled with finely-detailed sketches and scribbled notes. Exploring the extraordinary collection is like entering into the mind of the legendary Renaissance artist, engineer, and inventor. Artist Lauren Collin reveals exquisite textures from flat sheets of paper. Using a scalpel with surgical blades, she carves watercolor paper into “bas-reliefs” that are a dazzling collection of bristling scales in a variety of shapes and sizes. The details of her work are incredible; Collin uses the thickness of the material to create layers of scales that result in a surprising amount of depth.
