Japanese Art Installation Lets Visitors Step Into a Living Dream World

Japanese digital art collective teamLab is known for creating epic digital art installations that immerse viewers and bring dream-like experiences to life. Their latest project, teamLab Planets TOKYO in Toyosu, presents a number of the collective’s best “body immersive” works, spanning across a 10,000-square-meter (approximately 107,640 square feet) exhibition space. Made using digital technology, many of the installations are designed to transform based upon viewer interactions.

“Magical” Waterfall Glowing at Night Captured With a Simple Lighting Trick

During a backpacking trip to Havasu Falls with her friends and husband, photographer Carley Nelson decided to bring home a special souvenir. Using only the light emitted by the group's headlamps, she was able to bring home a spectacular image of the waterfall at night. Instructing the group to remain as still as possible, she was able to capture the magic of the falling water cascading under the stars.

Incredible Bioluminescent Sea Sparkles Cause a Glowing Shore in Wales

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. The glowing sea isn't the result of Photoshop, but some of nature's smallest organisms. Captured off the coast of North Wales by photographer Kris Williams, the phenomenon is caused by bioluminescent plankton. Though typically found in the warm waters of the Caribbean or Southeast Asia, the glow is a defense mechanism that Williams first spotted at Penmon Point beach on the island Anglesey a few weeks ago.

3D Sketchbook Drawings of Famous Landmarks Pop Off the Page

Italian artist Pietro Cataudella takes urban sketching to the next level by combining his architectural drawings of famous landmarks with photos of their real-life surroundings. The project, called CityLiveSketch, features a series of 3D drawings that seem to jump from the artist’s journals like pages in a pop-up book. Cataudella began his project in 2014 while living in his hometown, Sicily.
