Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” Song Is Completely Transformed When Slowed to 33 RPM

It’s not unusual for a classic tune to be reimagined. Most of the time, this is done when another musician performs it as a cover song, but its recreation can be even simpler than that. Many years ago, Dolly Parton’s 1973 hit “Jolene” was slowed down from the original 45 RPM record to just 33 RPM. While not all songs can handle this drastic change in tempo, “Jolene” is transformed in more ways than one.

Inspired by modern art history, many of today's top designers create quirky products that pay homage to the 21st century's most famous figures. This trend has culminated in an eclectic range of products, including toe-tally creative novelty socks, artistic action figures, and, thanks to designer Becky Kemp of Sketch.Ink, a collection of cute Kokeshi dolls modeled after Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and Salvador Dalí. The Kokeshi has been popular in Japan since the Edo Period.

Sculptor Carves Life-Sized Arnold Schwarzenegger Statue Out of a Tree Trunk

While Arnold Schwarzenegger has already been honored with a 600-pound bronze statue in Ohio, the world champion bodybuilder, Hollywood star, and ex-Governor of California has recently inspired the work of another sculptor. Wood carving artist James O’Neal created an incredible life-sized Arnie out of an old tree trunk and documented the entire process on Instagram. Carved from black oak, the impressive piece measures 1.88 meters in height (approximately 6′ 2″ tall)
