Chinese architectural firm UA studio 7 has designed a 1,000-foot-tall contemporary skyscraper known as New City Flower at the intersection of Fushun and Shenyang in China in an effort to reinvigorate the local area. Inspired by the shape of a rosebud, the tower features six “petals” that rise from the building's base and wrap around the cylindrical structure, subtly overlapping each other. At the base of the design are sloping green hills to help offset the monumental column and create a podium for the “flower.”
The building, which was designed to offer a multipurpose space that includes high-end offices, apartments, a club, and two floors of underground parking, is one of three structures that are part of the “Trinity” master-plan. Accompanying the sky-scrapper in this ambitious project will be a 5-star hotel and a Ring of Life sculpture found at the south end of the development.
