Decorative Carpet Design Made Completely With Fruit

Brussels-based event company Villa Eugnie recently developed this deliciously appealing carpet made completely out of fresh fruit. The installation was created to promote the launch of clothing line Kenzo's Spring/Summer 2014 menswear collection. The company used everything from lemons and limes to green apples, bananas, and strawberries to complete the extensive design filled with colorful, curved lines.

From a distance, the piece looks like a strip of thick, plush carpeting. However, up close, the arrangement becomes an obvious, edible delight that provided an enticing embellishment for the event, during which Paris-based restaurant Bob's Juice Bar provided various juices to drink and guests were invited to snack on samples directly from the design. In addition to the interactive piece, surrounding tables and juice stands were decorated with hanging rows of bananas and other various produce. The best part of the artwork is that nothing went to waste. At the end of the night, all of the leftover fruit was donated to the Red Cross.
