Created by Hungary-based artist Zoltan Mihaly, these elegant photographs feature a harmonious relationship between human and animal. The series, entitled Shapes of the Soul, explores the nature of the soul and the forms it can embody. Whether a large beast or a soft, feminine figure, Mihaly suggests that all beings have the same inner spirit.
There is a soothing sense of calm that emanates from each portrait. The elephant and model Daria Blanariu move together in a graceful balance to create each breathtaking composition. Highlighted with dramatic lighting, the details of the contrasting figures stand strongly out against the stark, black background.
Mihaly says, “Souls are all united through one and the same divine essence, regardless of their exterior fragileness or harshness, and they attain an inner harmony that is unperceivable to the exterior due to the various and often contrasting shapes that they can take.”
