In the past, we've seen the creative artist duo Herakut as they worked their magic along the streets of Tel Aviv and Los Angeles, and most recently they have found their way to Mannheim, Germany. Herakut, which combines the nicknames of the two members, Jasmin Siddiqui (AKA Hera) and Falk Lehman (AKA Akut), first started painting because they say, “we liked everything that graffiti involved–hiphop culture, being outdoors, and painting on huge dimensioned canvases for everyone to see.”
A few weeks ago, the duo was commissioned by the city of Mannheim to create this mural, entitled Brothers Helping Sisters Helping…, and wow did they make their mark! The visual strength of this massive artwork creates a powerful message of unity and community as the extended mural greets travelers entering Mannheim by train. What a positive and memorable way to welcome visitors!
