If you were lucky enough to be in Vegas this weekend, you may have seen some incredible pumpkin sculptures gracing the Halloween events inside nightclubs TAO and Lavo. “The Picasso of Pumpkins” Ray Villafane (who may remember from this post) partnered up with fellow artists, including Andy Bergholtz, to create some pumpkin sculptures that are out-of-this-world!
First, of course, the pumpkins were transformed from ordinary to extraordinary during an exhibition at the Venetian hotel-casino where on-lookers got to see the artists hard at work, taking anywhere from three to five hours to carve one pumpkin. “I am assembling a team of the absolute best pumpkin carvers to host high profile venues and events,” Villafane had said. “My first team member, Andy Bergholtz. Together we are providing pumpkins for Heidi Klum's annual Halloween Party hosted by TAO in Vegas. Here is Andy's debut pumpkin (above). We are going give Vegas some pumpkins to remember!”

So what's the plan for next year? How can anyone top this? Villafane told the Las Vegas Sun that he'd like to get a whole team of pumpkin sculptors together and create a giant haunted pumpkin patch filled with their creations. “So people can experience the whole thing, not just see decorations at a party,” Villafane said.
