Japan’s 2025 World Expo Pavilion Explores the Cycle of Life

On April 13, 2025, the next World Expo will open in Osaka, Japan, featuring exhibitions and pavilions from more than 160 participating countries. The expo, which will run until October 13, 2025, centers around the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” and is expected to attract over 28 million visitors from around the world.

Photo Contest Celebrates Excellence in Architectural Photography

The proper photography can make a piece of architecture pop by accentuating its design. In awknowledgement of this, the Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) recognizes excellence in the field of architectural photography with its Architecture Photography MasterPrize. Now in its fourth year, it complements the organization's awards for architectural design, product design, and the best architectural firms. Photographers Albrecht Voss and Franco Casaccia were named the overall winners for their exterior and interior photography, respectively.

Snøhetta Designs Cozy Minimalist Refuge for Hikers in the Pyrenees

Architecture firm Snøhetta will be helping hikers in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park rest and recharge thanks to a new refuge. Located along the Cirque de Barroude natural site, it replaces the Barroude mountain refuge that was destroyed a decade ago in an accidental fire. The new refuge, in keeping with the firm's environmental ethos, will have a minimal footprint and incorporate the park's natural flora and fauna.

The garden at the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is widely regarded as one of the city’s best, featuring a three-tiered pagoda, various stone monuments, waterfalls, and serene ponds.
