A Rare Octopus so Adorable It May Be Named for Its Cuteness

Out of all the mysterious creatures who call the deep sea their home, this little octopus may be the cutest! The rare specimen, who belongs to the Opistoteuthis genus, may even be named for its adorable appearance, according to researchers who are studying it. “As someone that's describing the species you get to pick what the specific name is,” Stephanie Bush, postdoctoral fellow at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, told Science Friday.

Fairytale-like Photos of Russian Models Posing with a Real Bear

Russian photographer Olga Barantseva captured these incredible shots of beautiful models posing with a giant brown bear in a snowy forest near Moscow. The images look straight out of a fairytale, showing a softer side to the big predator. As part of an anti-hunting campaign, the extraordinary photos are meant to “show the natural harmony between humans and bears,” according to Barantseva.

Boston Bombing Survivor Crosses This Year’s Finish Line on Her New Prosthetic Leg

Rebekah Gregory was one of the many runners injured by a double bombing at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. She nearly lost her life, as well as the life of her young son who was waiting for her near the finish line. As a result of the injuries sustained from the deadly blast, Rebekah has undergone 35 surgeries, including one last November to amputate her left leg.
