Pinar Noorata is the Managing Editor at My Modern Met. She is a writer, editor, and content creator based in Brooklyn, NY. She earned her BA in Film and Media Studies from CUNY Hunter College and is an alumnus of the Center for Arts Education’s Career Development Program in NYC. She has worked at major TV, film, and publishing companies as well as other independent media businesses. When she isn’t writing, editing, or creating videos herself, Pinar enjoys watching movies, reading, crafting, drawing, and volunteering at her local animal shelter.

Teacher Draws Incredible Whiteboard Murals at Lunch Break

The multifaceted works of painter Gregory Euclide aren't confined to museums and galleries. The Minnesota high school teacher and artist uses his time wisely, teaching his students while simultaneously exercising his artistic talents. During his 25-minute lunch breaks, Euclide would embark on a personal challenge requiring the skilled painter to produce impeccably detailed and wildly creative landscape paintings in sumi ink on the school's whiteboards. What he wound up with does not disappoint!

Classic Sculpture Replica Is a Giant Melting Candle

New York-based sculptor Urs Fischer gives a whole new meaning to “roman candles.” The artist transforms a typical Roman statue into a form of unspoken performance art simply by incorporating an ignited wick into his wax replicas. Ultimately, the giant candles (of which there are technically three) are melted down.

In the past year, the 18-year-old has accomplished a great deal at his young age, including graduating from high school and the completion of his highly praised 365 project. We were hooked early on and the conclusion of his year-long endeavor did not disappoint.
