Pinar Noorata is the Managing Editor at My Modern Met. She is a writer, editor, and content creator based in Brooklyn, NY. She earned her BA in Film and Media Studies from CUNY Hunter College and is an alumni of the Center for Arts Education’s Career Development Program in NYC. She has worked at major TV, film, and publishing companies as well as other independent media businesses. When she isn’t writing, editing, or creating videos herself, Pinar enjoys watching movies, reading, crafting, drawing, and volunteering at her local animal shelter.

Whimsical Illustrations of Delicious Food Pairings As Best Friends

Bacon and eggs, coffee and doughnuts, macaroni and cheese–each pair is a perfect culinary combination that our taste buds can't deny, and neither can illustrator Philip Tseng. That's why the talented graphic designer has created an adorable series, aptly titled Taste Buds, showing us a cute collection of some of the best food combos around. This illustration series of delicious pairings was created for Tseng's first group gallery show at iam8bit in Los Angeles.

Stark White Geometric Animal Sculptures by Ben Foster

Kaikoura, New Zealand-based sculptor Ben Foster creates modern, inorganic renderings of animals that boast a geometric design. Each sculpture in his portfolio, whether it be a seal balancing an invisible ball, a horse standing in place, or a dog howling at the moon, blurs the lines between the real and abstract. They also each incite spectators to shift their positions to get the full visual spectrum of their complex shape.

420,000 Matchsticks Form Lord of the Rings’ Minas Tirith

Artist Pat Acton of Matchstick Marvels has constructed a massive model of Minas Tirith, the fictional city within the world of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, with 420,000 matchsticks. The Iowa native, who has been working with matchsticks since he graduated from college back in 1977, uses techniques acquired through experience with the material of choice to assemble the intricate structure.
