Mom Captures Sweet Moments Between Her Sons and Their Ragdoll Cats

There's the old saying that dogs are man's best friend, but here, it's cats that prove to be the ultimate furry pals. Photographer Beth Mancuso captures sweet moments between her three sons and their two Ragdoll cats, Lucy and Irie. It's part of her ongoing series called A Boy and His Cats, and the images reflect a loving relationship between humans and animals.

Lucy was the first to arrive at the Mancuso's home two years ago, and after a year they took in Irie, her half sister. Considering how cute these cats are, it's no surprise that the photographer's kids fell in love with them, which has lead to many charming moments. “At some point I realized I was taking quite a few pictures of my boys and their cats,” she writes on her website. The compositions are a mixture of real-life instances (often shot with her iPhone) and photos that Mancuso directs.

Each of her boys has a different relationship with the cats, but her oldest son is by far the most obsessed. At night, he tries to smuggle them into his bedroom! “We couldn't have asked for better cats,” she says. They're gentle creatures, offering companionship when the kids are playing, exploring the outdoors, or quietly reading a book. Mancuso intends to continue this heartwarming project for as long as she can.
