Hungry Pup on a Train Is Hilariously Desperate To Get His Human’s Snack

What would you do if you saw this sweet face peering back at you on the train? For pawrent Ursula Aitchison, her pup Huxley’s desperation was not enough for her to give up her tasty snack, but it resulted in some adorably hilarious images. Aitchison recently shared photos of the Golden Retriever realizing that his mom was rudely refraining from sharing her Walker's brand prawn cocktail-flavored chips—and trying to do something about it.

Photo editor Mandy Helwege has a unique way of chronicling the fleeting adolescence of a dog. Using Photoshop and her expert retouching skills, she creates a single photo featuring two portraits of the same dog. One is as a puppy and the other is as an adult.

Study Shows More Dogs in a Neighborhood May Contribute to Lower Crime

Dogs are great companions. They’ve always offered loyalty, love, and unwavering friendship; but now, there may be another benefit to our canine pals. Researchers at Ohio State University discovered that neighborhoods with more dogs have less violent crime—homicide, robbery and, to a lesser extent, aggravated assaults. The paper was recently published in Social Forces, and it offers insight into how safety-promoting trust is built in communities.
