Billowing ‘Orb’ Held Together by Over 200,000 Rivets Casts Dramatic Shadow at Google Campus

Rising nearly 33 feet, The Orb is a centerpiece of Google's Charleston East Campus in Mountain View, California. Created by Marc Fornes of THEVERYMANY, its sculptural design is a beautiful marriage of artistic intent and engineering. The thin aluminum structure, held together by over 217,000 rivets, serves as both a pavilion and a public art installation, blurring the line between art and architecture.

Sprawling “Organic House” is Discreetly Nestled Into the Ground Outside Mexico City

Nestled in the crowded slopes of Naucalpan, a suburb west of Mexico City, lies a house unlike anything you've ever seen. Designed by Mexican architect Javier Senosiain, the Casa Orgánica (“Organic House”) draws from the shapes of nature and the comfort of the womb to fulfill the environmental, physical, and psychological needs of a human. Surrounded by sprawling greenery, it's hard to determine where the garden ends and the house begins.

Striking Jinling Art Museum Lined With a Pixelated Gradient Pattern of 139,900 Ceramic Bricks

The city of Nanjing, China, traditionally known as Jinling, has a unique place in history. Established over 3,100 years ago, it once was the world's largest city and the first to have a population of 1 million. With a mission to spotlight this significance and send a message about progress, AZL Architects was tasked with designing the Jinling Art Museum. The firm completed the building in 2024.
