Nostalgic Underground Bunker Eerily Mimics a Neighborhood From the 1960s

Mountain views, a Jacuzzi, a posh pink-tinted washroom—this property has all the makings of an opulent home, except that it’s entirely subterranean. A full 25 feet underground, it’s the work of Girard B. “Jerry” Henderson’s Underground World Home Inc., which constructed bunkers like these back in the 1960s and 70s when the majority of Americans feared the imminence of nuclear war and wanted concealed spaces where they could live safely if necessary.

Master Architect Frank Gehry Designs Koi Lamps Gracefully “Swimming” in Mid-Air

Architect Frank Gehry is famous throughout the world for his modern, dynamic buildings that boast awe-inspiring designs. What he’s less well-known for, however, is his work in the fine art world. Between 1984 and 1986, he produced Fish Lamps, a series of illuminated sculptures featuring graceful koi whose bodies twist and turn as if they’re swimming through water. Gehry’s exploration into this realm of creatures influenced his later architectural work.

Art is for everyone, and everyone includes your dog! More Than teamed up with British artist and inventor Dominic Wilcox to create the first art exhibition for canines, which opened for just two days last weekend. As part of the #PlayMore campaign, the interactive installation's mission was to encourage humans to spend more time playing with their animal buddies.

Artist Wears Outfits Made From Bus Seat Fabrics as Quirky Camouflage on Public Transit Commutes

For most of us, long bus, train, and subway rides are spent listening to music, reading a book, or taking a nap. For German artist Menja Stevenson, these travels serve as a study in fashion. Her projects consider how “perfectly ugly” the fabric of public transportation is, and humorously conducts social experiments to draw attention to the outrageous patterns. Stevenson began her project titled Bustour in 2006.
