Watch This Photographer Expertly “Paint” Two Swans Using Light

Finnish fine art photographer Hannu Huhtamo masterfully uses light painting to create dynamic imagery. Whether he's creating fantastical creatures in the forest or flowers on open water, his photographs are a beautiful demonstration of patience and artistry. For one of his latest pieces, Serenity, he takes us inside the process of painting two swans on a lake. Incredible Winning Photos From the 2021 Bird Photographer of the Year Contest

Over 22,000 images from photographers around the world flooded into the sixth annual Bird Photographer of the Year contest. It was Mexican photographer Alejandro Prieto who took home the top prize for his haunting photo of a Greater Roadrunner staring down the immense border wall between the United States and Mexico. Wrapped in barbed wire, the wall looms large over the perplexed animal. Prieto won a £5,000 ($6,900)

Cologne-based macro photographer Ole Bielfeldt of Macrofying is known for his deep zooms into everyday objects. Each eye-opening image reveals the microscopic details of the world around us. Always in search of a new perspective in his photography, he began this series after experimenting with an old microscope he found in his attic. So fascinated by the tiny worlds living right under our noses, he decided to share his findings online.

Stunning Aerial Photos Capture the Bubble Gum Hues of France’s Salt Fields

Photographer Paolo Pettigiani is known for his infrared images, but in his new series of photos, he didn't need any special lenses to inject some pink into the compositions. The bubble gum hue prevalent in this new work is all natural. It's the work of Dunaliella salina, which is also the name of the series. This micro-algae is plentiful in salt fields like the ones that Pettigiani photographed in the Camargue region of France.
